Winners of the 2010 Brownfield Renewal Awards will be announced in the October issue of Brownfield Renewal magazine and the Awards ceremony will be held at the Brownfields 2011 Conference.
Most of us like to give credit where credit is due. To that end, three esteemed winners are selected each year as recipients of Brownfield Renewal Awards. Awards are presented to projects that represent the gold standard of brownfield redevelopment across three distinct industry spheres of influence. The three categories are:
- Environmental impacts
- Economic impacts
- Social impacts
The Renewal Awards selection process - carried out by an independent panel of judges - is supremely democratic, as any individual, group, company, organization, government body or agency is eligible to submit an application. These projects can encompass:
- Private enterprise
- Public facilities
- Industrial reuse of a brownfield site
- Environmental restoration
