Brownfields 2011 Conference Endorser Agreement

Dear Friends of Brownfields Redevelopment:

The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) has great pleasure in serving as the lead non-Federal cosponsor of Brownfields 2011, April 3-5, 2011 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, PA. This conference, through a uniquely designed program, multiple networking opportunities, and close to 300 exhibits, will aim to promote research and exploration of solutions to brownfields redevelopment challenges.

Each year, ICMA finds it exciting to see this conference attract even more interested and concerned individuals from around the world. Brownfields 2011 will be the 14th national conference sponsored by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA). Attendance has grown dramatically, from just over 500 attendees in 1996 in Pittsburgh to 5,000 at the 2009 conference in New Orleans, LA.

ICMA sincerely appreciates organizations and companies who continue to support the progress of the brownfields industry. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate if your organization will agree to be an endorser for Brownfields 2011.

Endorser Responsibilities

As an endorser, you agree to assist in marketing the conference. As the conference planning proceeds, ICMA will be assembling and distributing specific promotional materials. These include a preliminary brochure with basic conference information, a reminder postcard, and a final conference brochure describing all conference details. We ask you, as endorsers, to help us distribute these materials to your members and/or community by whatever means you commonly use. If you prefer, you may wish to provide an electronic mailing list for your organization. ICMA can sign an agreement indicating the mailing list will be used solely for marketing the conference. We can also provide press releases or drop-in ads for endorsers to use in their publications. Further, ICMA encourages each endorser to create a link to the official Brownfields 2011 website (www.brownfields2011.org), and ask that you inform ICMA once you establish that link.

We realize each organization is different and has different capabilities and audiences in terms of being able to assist with this marketing responsibility. However, we request that in whatever manner you are able, you assist in promoting the conference to the best of your abilities. You may wish to discuss your specific situation with the endorser coordinator, Grant Sparks, at the contact information listed below.

Additional Information

Endorsers often also participate in the conference as exhibitors, sponsors or take advantage of advertising opportunities. This is in no way a requirement in being an endorser, however, interested parties are often seeking additional ways to raise their organization's profile at the conference. For more information on exhibiting, sponsoring, and advertising contact Noreen Burke at (312)-541-0567 x648 or noreen@corcexpo.com.

In return for your support as an Endorser for Brownfields 2011, ICMA will include the name of your organization in conference materials. ICMA will also create a hypertext link on the Brownfields 2011 Web site to your organization’s home page. If you would like this link established, be sure to list your URL on the Endorser Submittal Form.

Should you have questions or comments, please contact Grant Sparks at (202)962-3657 or gsparks@icma.org. We thank you for your continued participation and interest. Your commitment to this premier brownfields event is vital to its ongoing success.

Sincerely,

Julie Butler
