Continuing Education Credits

Brownfields 2011 is a great way to continue your professional development. Stop by the Continuing Education kiosk at registration for more information on how to obtain your professional credits.

Brownfields 2011 offered a variety of continuing education opporunities for attendees. This year the conference offered PDH's for engineers, CLE credits for attorneys, CM credits for AICP professionals, and contract hours for EPA employees.

If you have any questions regarding Continuing Education Credits please contact Danielle Goodwin within 30 days of end of the conference at dgoodwin@icma.org or 202-962-3590.

Professional Licensed Engineers: Professional Development Hours

All sessions at Brownfields 2011 are eligible for professional development hours (PDH) for professional engineers. Engineers need to sign the Engineering Sign-in Sheet at the beginning of each session they attend. Sign in sheets will be available in the back of all session rooms. At the start of the conference, all professional engineers should visit the continuing education desk in the conference registration area to obtain a certificate to keep track of their attendance at educational sessions.

Please note there are differences from state to state in continuing education requirements for professional engineering licensure. Each state licensing board has the final authority to approve professional development hours. EPA and ICMA strongly recommend that attendees trying to acquire these credits regularly check with their state licensing boards for specific continuing education requirements in their jurisdiction that affect professional engineering licensure and the ability to renew licensure.

*Please note that the US EPA and ICMA are NOT pre-approved providers of PDH’s. Some states including FLORIDA, NEW YORK, NORTH CAROLINA, LOUISIANA, and NEW JERSEY require all PDH’s to be pre-approved by the state board. Some states will allow for you to self-submit. Please check with your states board for more details.
